Patrick James - Founder/Owner
My inspiration was my uncle, Donald James, an amateur boxer
My first exposure to martial arts was at the age of 14 years, when I studied the art of Judo for a few years, I gave this up to focus on my football. I realised many years later this was a mistake and my real passion was for martial arts. In 2011, I was introduced to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu by my good friend and started training under Master Felipe Alves De Souza and Master Jose Henrique 'Leao' Teixeira, a 6th dan black belt under the famous Gracie organisation.

My first major competition came later that year, the English Open, as white belt I managed to achieve the gold, from this moment on, I set myself the goal to train hard and compete as much possible. I wanted to become one of the top fighters in the world and make up for the years that I had lost. In 2014, I had my biggest win, in the home of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Tijuca Tennis Club in Rio De Janeiro, I achieved 'Gold' in the World Masters.
